Kanye premieres new single at 2008 MTV VMAs

The MTV Video Music Awards are now over, and I gotta say… these award shows aren’t really getting that much better over the years. However, there were many memorable acts for me that night, including T.I.’s medley of Whatever You Like and Live Your Life with Rihanna, and P!nk’s explosive performance of So What.

But what really interested me was the finale of the show. Kanye closed the awards, singing his new single from his fourth album, Love Lockdown. First Lil Wayne, then T.I., and now it’s Kanye with this singing business. And what - no rap verses? Anyways, the single’s pretty cool I guess, but I’m depending on the studio mp3 to get me fully hooked on it. For now, I LOVE the drums on the chorus.

Britney seemed nervous for her opening ‘line.’ other than that, it seemed a little contrived, but maybe this will jump start her to do something really worth talking about for upcoming year!

ugh I’m torn–I like this song but I wish artists would stop with the autotune/digital voice thing/whatever it is!

Kanye, Kanye, Kanye…
I Love this guy as an artist. He’s not afraid to express himself the way he feels at the moment but I’m not sure if I like this song. I’s something different from him though, so I gotta give him props at least.
