In The Mix #1

Having started this blog only a couple months ago, there’s tons of music that I want to show you guys, from rare remixes, to unreleased tracks, to album cuts that didn’t get the shine they deserved. So, meet the “In The Mix” post - now and then, I’ll post up 4 random songs from my library that you might have missed or overlooked in the past. Hopefully, these posts will allow you to meet some new artists, learn about some different styles of music, and most importantly… expand your own music collections. Check out your first helping below:

1. Ashlee Simpson [ft. Izza Kizza] - Murder
I know, I know… Ashlee Simpson?!? As crazy as that sounds, this is the one track I peeped from her latest album Bittersweet World. Why, you may ask? Because Timbaland’s on the beat (why else would I give Ashlee a second of my time? Haha). Izza Kizza delivers a sick verse as well.

2. Kanye West [ft. Paul Wall, GLC & T.I.] - Drive Slow [Remix]
This is the video version of Kanye’s Drive Slow, with the additional string arrangement. Not many people know about this version - it sounds so much better than the one on the album.

3. Cassie - In Love Wit U
In my opinion, the best song Cassie’s ever recorded. Why it got left off her debut album, I have no idea.

4. The Arcade Fire - Neighbourhood #2
The Arcade Fire are one of my favorite Canadian alternative acts. Neighbourhood #2 is one of my top choices from their album Funeral.
