Had a too much to drink last night…

~ Ciara - I Don’t Remember ~

Another new track from Ciara has hit the web recently… I don’t know what’s gonna happen to this whole Fantasy Ride business, since all her tracks are leaking for everyone to hear. I Don’t Remember is a dark, midtempo ballad about a non-drinker who wakes up and doesn’t remember what happened the night before. When I listened to the track I thought, “Hm, this is something Ne-Yo would have written.” And guess what, a clip of Ne-Yo’s version of the song actually leaked about a month ago, hinting that he really did pen the track. As for Ciara’s take on the track, I like it a lot. It wouldn’t be fit for a single, but it could be a good album track that shows off more of CIara’s vocals.

I’m not really sure why you said she’s a non-drinker if you noticed the lyrics say “had too much too drink last night” by writing it in your subject line…Am I missing something? It sure sounds like she’s blaming it on the alcohol to me.

All that aside, I like the song. It sounds a little like something Rihanna might experiment with. Kudos to Ciara for trying something new. I miss her “Goodies” and “Oh” days, though.
